Jobs: Fedcap Employment opens Macclesfield office

A new office to support jobseekers in Macclesfield has opened.

Those out of work Macclesfield will get a helping hand to restart their careers, thanks a new office and a new service.

 

Not-for-profit organisation Fedcap Employment is delivering the UK Government's Restart Scheme in the town on behalf of G4S.

Their office on 59 Mill Street will provide support to those that have been out of work during the pandemic.

 

Fedcap Employment aims to help people to pick up skills for the modern workplace and support people to find suitable, sustainable jobs. 

Employers include NHS vaccination centres, Capita, O2 call centres, Adecco, Serco and Mitie Security.

The Restart Scheme Provides tailed support to help those out of work find a job, providing they have been claiming Universal Credit for 12 to 18 months.

Jobseekers actually have to get referred in at the moment by Jobcentre Plus, so it's not like a recruitment office where people can just turn up.

During the opening event, partners and guests were given an insight into the Restart Scheme, which provides tailored support to helppeople who have been out of work for nine months or longer. 

 

The organisation's frontline team are on hand to help with everything from updating CVs to tackling health concerns, and from impressing at interviews to launching new start-up businesses. 

 

The team are also working with some of the region's leading employers to help the region bounce back from the coronavirus pandemic with reliable workers.

Brian Bell, Chief Executive at Fedcap Employment, said: "We're not about quick fixes or revolving doors; we're here for to make a lasting difference to people's lives.

"This new office allows us a space to get to know our customers in Macclesfield and find out how we can have a positive impact on their lives.†
