Joy Division Day cancelled at last minute following further cancellations

Joy Division Day has been cancelled.
This Saturday (July 19), Macclesfield was set to host an event celebrating the legacy of the iconic post-punk band.
However, organiser Trevor Stokes has now confirmed that following further cancellations, it will not go ahead.
He said: "I am very sorry it's late but I tried to put something on and failed, the Transmission gig was cancelled by Cinemac three weeks ago and now overnight I've had other acts cancel due to heavy persistent rain being forecast all day tomorrow!
"So, Joy Division Day is cancelled.
"Please do not travel and again I'm sorry, I tried but it's not supported this year sorry."

Trevor organised the first Joy Division Day last September, proving to be a big success.
At the end of June, a scheduling issue saw Cinemac pull the plug on a performance by tribute act, Transmission.
Trevor vowed to go ahead with the event nonetheless, however, following these further cancellations has decided against staging the event in 2025.
