Landlady rings the changes as she celebrates two years at popular town centre pub

A landlady is ringing the changes as she celebrates two years at the helm.
Siobhan Fiorini recently commemorated her second anniversary as manager of The Queens Hotel.
Never one to rest on her laurels, Siobhan and the team have been refurbishing the pub's upstairs function room.
Siobhan said: "The idea came from wanting to promote more live music and events like comedy nights, as well as private functions.
"I hope the transformation of the upstairs event space will attract even more people to visit our lovely pub and enjoy it with us.
"Work will hopefully be finished this week, just a few finishing touches left.
"I'm also keeping my fingers crossed for a refurb of the downstairs of the pub next year."

Siobhan, originally from Salford, started work in the pub industry in 2016 as a glass collector and quickly worked her way up to management.
In 2021, she joined the Joseph Holts pub group, working at The Lower Turks Head in Manchester.
Looking for a fresh challenge, she later moved to The Horse and Jockey in Chorlton before arriving in Macclesfield two years ago, age 25.
"After coming to view the pub and visiting Macclesfield for the first time I fell in love with the place," Siobhan said.
"I then realised what a great music pub this is and how much the community want to see it thrive."

Siobhan continued: "It was a challenging first few months until people realised the doors were back open for good, serving quality award-winning beers, hosting great regular entertainment every weekend as well as free pub games and beer offers.
"A lot of people have commented on the cleanliness and standards of the pub and still do today, I believe this is very important.
"My own personal challenge was moving to an area I had never been before and I knew no one here. I now feel welcomed and have met lots of great friends, I feel at home."

On Saturday, September 13, The Queens hosted a charity afternoon to mark two years since Siobhan took over.
Through a raffle, tombola, live music, children's activities, a BBQ and a cake stall, the pub raised £741 for the Joseph Holts' four chosen charities – Derian House, Wood Street Mission, Francis House, Fylde Kids Foundation.
Siobhan said: "It was fantastic raising such a great amount of money just by the community coming together to support these charities and us at The Queens!
"We will continue to raise more money for our children's charities."
