Macclesfield's boutique comic art festival is just weeks away.

Macc-Pow! returns for its 11th edition next month, bringing together local and international creators from the world of comics.

This year's event runs from Thursday, June 25, to Sunday, June 28, with a packed schedule to look forward to.

Organiser Marc Jackson, owner of Room for Comics, said: "This year's festival is our 11th event, and we are incredibly excited for it.

"It's our most ambitious festival yet, bringing 80 creators from the world of comics into Macclesfield, alongside comics fans young and old from far and wide, including returning super-fan Barbara Niig who has joined us for the past three years from Switzerland!

"This festival has put Macclesfield on the map as a destination for comic art, we celebrate the independent spirit of the town and the businesses, connecting up with cafés, bars, shops and more to involve them in what we do, and for them to benefit from this celebration. Events such as this are key to Macclesfield's unique presence in the world!"

The main exhibitor day will once again take place in the Town Hall on Saturday, June 27, from 10am to 4pm.

Free-to-enter, guests will be able to explore three rooms bursting with creators exhibiting their work along with a full day of workshops and interactive elements.

Macc-Pow! 2026 will also see a free mini comic art film festival take place at Cinemac, starting June 25.

This will include the world premiere of OiNK, a new documentary looking at the creation and lefacy of the influential cult British comic.

A number of local businesses will also be getting in on the act, with Macclesfield Library, the Silk Museum, Room for Comics and several cafes and workshops hosting workshops and interactive activities over the weekend.

You don't have to wait until June either, with an exhibition created by Bollington-based artist Ava Reid now on display at RedWillow.
