An illustrator from Greenside has launched his new Macclesfield charity Christmas cards, earlier than originally planned.

Since 2020, Adam Schofield, who trades as Adam Francis Illustrator, has illustrated and sold Macclesfield themed Christmas cards, donating half of the profit to local charity Cheshire Streetwise.

However, this year, he is changing the charity that he is working with.

"Cheshire Streetwise do amazing work, but I felt it was time to move on and support another great charity in the town, so this year I am pleased to announce that Just Drop In will be my 2023 Christmas card charity," said Adam.

The Macclesfield-themed Christmas cards can be ordered on THIS LINK.

Ann Wright, from Just Drop In, said: "Just Drop In help and support children & young people who are finding life hard."

"They have a heartfelt commitment to improving the mental health and wellbeing of local children, helping them to find themselves and their feet."

There are TWO cards to choose from this year, a snowy market scene on Market Place and a Macclesfield scene featuring some of the town's iconic architecture.

"This will be my fourth year producing Christmas Cards and I can't see it stopping," added Adam.

"They've proved to be really popular with my customers, who also appreciate that they're supporting a local charity and a small local business with their purchase."

The cards are sold in packs of five, one design per pack, and cost just £5.95.

Over the past three years, Adam, who is also a Trustee at the Rossendale Trust and co-founder of Made in Macclesfield, has raised over £1000 for Cheshire Streetwise through his Christmas card sales, and hopes that this year will be his most successful one yet.

"They're becoming kind of an anticipated item which is really nice," revealed Adam.

"I have had emails and messages asking if and when they will be ready - hence the early release! I sold 42 packs the day I launched them on September 9."

The cards can be bought on Adam's website and can either be posted out or collected in person. The Visitor Information Centre on Market Place will also be selling them.

"I'd like to take the opportunity to thank everybody who has bought cards from me in the past and I hope that you all love the new designs - these are definitely my favourites, though I say that every year!"
