Bands and artists have been confirmed for an upcoming charity event.

The music-line up for Macclesfield's Charity Beer Festival, which will take place on both Friday 10 and Saturday 11 May, includes a number of local artists, including returning favourite MaccWood fleet, as well as Megan Dixon Hood, and Dr Bruff and The Push.

The Friday evening will include a blues, folk and country set from Jack Browning and this year both evenings will close with a set from DJ Dave Law, who proved hugely popular when he closed the Saturday evening at last year's festival with a set of 90s dance classics.

Tickets for the Friday and Saturday eveningsessions, which will open at 7pm, are available at MaccBeerFest.co.uk, tickets cost £12.50 and include a commemorative glass. The family-friendly Saturday daytime session, which is free to attend and doesn't require a ticket, will open from midday until 6pm and offers a range of activities for the whole family, including vintage games, face painting, market stalls, and live music throughout.

The festival will offer a wide range of food across both evening and daytime sessions, including wood fired pizza, Thai food, burgers, fish and chips and locally produced pies from Carters. The Saturday day time will also offer ice cream and a range of hot drinks.

The 2024 Macc Beer Fest will once again feature a collaboration with west Chestergate-based Suburban Green, with a wine and gin bar which will offer a range of locally-produced spirits and, for the first time, a range of different rums. This year, the bar will also include an expanded non-alcoholic range, including non-alcoholic spirits, wines, beers and prosecco.

The festival's huge beer offering will include around 150 different beers, ciders and perry, a number of which are locally produced. The beers have been expertly selected by the festival's CAMRA beer experts, who will be managing the bar throughout the weekend, supported by over 150 local volunteers, who will staff the 40-metre long bar across the three sessions.

This year's festival will raise funds for Cheshire Search and Rescue, a volunteer-led organisation which primarily assists Cheshire Police with searches for vulnerable and missing people in the local area, as well as supporting flood response and assisting other emergency services. The funds raised will support the purchase of a much-needed replacement search and rescue boat.

Macclesfield's Charity Beer Festival is one of the region's longest-running charity events, having raised over £300,000 in its nearly 30-year history. This year's event is sponsored by local solicitors SAS Daniels, accountancy firm Bennett Brooks, and Spiral Print.

James Hogben, commenting on behalf of the Macclesfield Beer Festival Committee and Macclesfield Round Table, said: "With the help of our amazing sponsors, committee members, and volunteers, we're excited to welcome you to Macc Beer Fest 2024 and, together, raising a fantastic amount of money for Cheshire Search and Rescue, which plays a hugely important role the search for missing and vulnerable people in the local community."
