Fancy a facial for charity? A Macclesfield clinic is offering discounted treatment in support of a domestic abuse charity.

Nurse Practitioners at Renew Medical Aesthetics are looking for participants for a 12 hour "Face-a-Thon" to be held on Saturday February 12 at their clinic in Gawsworth, Cheshire.

Participants will receive a luxurious 15 minute 'Boost and Glow' facial, using medical-grade cosmeceutical products at a reduced price of £20.

The Congleton Road skincare clinic's event will raise money to support women and children affected by domestic abuse by donating £10 from each facial to the charity Refuge.

Based in a private aesthetics clinic in Gawsworth, Renew Medical Aesthetics performs hundreds of medical facials a year, but for one day only, they will be attempting to complete 72 in 12 hours.

The express facials will take 15 minutes, and will use the same medical-grade products as a typical medical facial: a thorough cleanse, a pain-free enzyme peel and skin nourishing boost and glow serum.

£10 from each facial will be donated to Refuge, the UK's largest single provider of specialist domestic abuse services. Their aim is to provide a range of life-saving and life-changing services and to give a voice to survivors of domestic abuse.

The company could raise thousands for the national charity.

Refuge supports more than 7,000 women and children on any given day, and runs the National Domestic Abuse Helpline, which is the gateway to accessing specialist support across the country.

"Statistics show that during lockdown, domestic abuse increased massively, in particular affecting women and children," said Clinical Director Kelly Saynor.

"Our community of patients are in the majority women, from all different walks of life. So we wanted to create an opportunity where we could help women and children who need support and safety, whilst also raising awareness of the charity within our community.

"Bookings are now open for the Face-a-thon, or if you can't make it, please consider making a donation directly to the charity."
