A national retailer has announced they will leave Macclesfield town centre.

Holland and Barrett, of 26 Mill Street is set to shut down.

This is according to a poster in the health store's shop window.

The amount of jobs lost has not yet been confirmed, nor a final date they will be open.

It is already next to an empty shop to the right, being where Thomas Cook travel agents sued to stand.

And Poundland two doors down from the left shut at the start of the year.

A spokesperson for Holland & Barrett said: "We regularly review our store portfolio to make sure we're in the best locations to serve our customers. We can confirm that our lease is due to expire on our store in Macclesfield and we are currently reviewing our location to make sure we are able to offer the very best of Holland & Barrett to our customers."
