A Macclesfield hair salon wants to bring smiles to Macclesfield, despite the miserable November weather.

Quirkydo of 181 Broken Cross are hosting their first ever keratin treatment showcase.

Keratin is a protein which is made in the human body. It helps keep your skin, nails and hair in tip-top condition.

And Quirkydo will be hosting an event later this month to bring vibrancy back to your hair, with keratin treatment.

The building has been a salon for 30 years. Historically, it was part of the old Pack Horse pub, and where the salon stands now were stables. So the salon has period features like vintage wooden beams, which adds to the charm of this independent salon.

Broken Cross resident and Quirkydo employee Roisin Brown explained what the event is all about.

"Join us for a keratin treatment showcase on 18th November, 2023, at 10:00 AM, where you'll discover the secret to achieving beautifully smooth and manageable hair," she said.

"Do you struggle with frizzy and unmanageable hair? Our Keratin Treatment is the answer you've been searching for.

"This event is your opportunity to learn about the incredible benefits of our keratin treatments, experience a live demonstration, and enjoy a pampering salon atmosphere.

The event on later this month costs just a fiver to attend.

"It has a number of different benefits that can benefit any hair type, so come and see the results you get from it.

"We will also be doing special offers on the day, if they book the keratin treatment. Keratin Treatment is suitable for men and women, short hair and long hair."

Quirkydo Macclesfield has been going for the past 12 years, started by Macclesfield resident Rebecca Walker.

"I chose the name Quirkydo because I didn't want to name the business after myself," said Rebecca.

"I came up with the name, so we could name our products after it as well. [They sell Quirky Shampoo, for example.]

"I'd just like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has supported us over the years. Obviously it has not been easy, but we are grateful for all our customers that have stayed loyal to us."

When asked about what they like about being a business in Broken Cross, Roisin had this to say: "I've always lived in the area and just think Broken Cross is a great little community. It has got everything you need."

"There is a dry cleaners, the supermarket, and all these little independent shops in the area and we all keep in touch and support each other.

"It is just us two who work here, which allows us to have one-to-one sessions with the clients.

"We're a bit more quiet and intimate, with a more relaxed pace, which sets us apart."

Keratin expert Roisin explained how you can attend the November 18 event.

"To attend, you can either email, text or phone the salon to buy a ticket," she revealed.

"It is £5 per ticket, and that money will go towards a giveaway that we are doing for a model to have free keratin treatment.

"We look forward to welcoming you to share the magic of beautifully transformed hair. Get ready to say goodbye to frizz and hello to radiant, manageable locks."
