A programme has been announced to bring new life to some of Macclesfield's decaying street signs.

Tytherington Ward Councillor and Mayor David Edwardes is on a mission to spruce up the town centre in his time as Mayor.

In keeping with the Mayor of Macclesfield's theme of "My Town, Your Town, Our Town" we will be starting a programme of restoration of the old cast-iron Street signs.

If any residents spot a particularly needy sign please email Cllr David Edwardes ([email protected]).

Residents are kindly asked to please include a picture if possible and the exact location.

Some of the signs, which date back to the early 1900s are a sign of our town's heritage.
