A Macclesfield kitty is after a permanent owner, after being rescued by local animal volunteers.

Tommy, who also goes by the name Echo, is a male domestic shorthair car which is two years old.

He is currently being fostered in Macclesfield, after being rescued by RSPCA Macclesfield last month.

He is seeking a new home, despite his ongoing battle with gingivitis.

RSPCA Macclesfield said: "Tommy is such a magnificent boy."

"He is part of an ongoing case whereby 107 cats were taken in by the RSPCA due to hoarded and unsanitary conditions. Tommy had spent 5 months in a cattery but has now been signed over for rehoming.

"He did have flu upon arrival in April."

"Tommy is a handsome boy full of character who deserves a second chance and his 'Forever Home'. If you feel you can give Tommy what he needs please get in touch and come and meet him I am certain you will fall in love with him."

He is one of fifteen cats RSPCA Macclesfield are currently trying to find a new home for.

Whilst currently residing in Macclesfield with a foster mum, he can be rehired anywhere local.

His current owner said: "Tommy came to me in a poor state and was very nervous."

"I have been building his confidence and making him feel safe.

"Tommy is a playful boy who loves to run about the house playing with all types of toys.

"He will chase after balls, carry the smaller toys around in his mouth meowing. He is pretty vocal and likes to have the last meow/word!! He will tolerate being brushed but this is better to be done when he is sleepy as at other times he starts to think it's all a game and can get carried away attacking the brush and sometimes catching your hand too.

"Tommy does need lots of attention and when he has been left on his own 'home alone' he does miss the human company. When you return he will fuss around you meowing/chatting and follow you about never leaving your side, he is also very interested in seeing what you bought at the shops.

"Tommy does have a tendency to scratch and bite even when he is purring and having a fuss – he is just learning boundaries and for this reason I feel he would not be suitable with children under 7yrs old. He would better suit a couple or a family with older children where he can get all the attention he craves.

"He loves to be close to you and likes nothing more than stretching out on his back on the sofa whilst you're relaxing. He loves to be cradled in your arms when he is feeling sleepy."

If you have room in your heart - and home - for Tommy please email RSPCA Macclesfield at [email protected].
