A Macclesfield takeaway has been regarded as one of the best in the world, according to Tripadvisor.

Wok's Cooking on Mill Lane, has earned the award after consistently excellent diner reviews have placed them amongst the favourite fast food outlets in the world.

As challenging as the past year was, Wok's stood out by changing and adapting the business to make the takeaway a place that customers could trust to deliver a quick and safe takeaway service.

As a double-celebration, they also maintained their 5-star Food Hygiene Rating back in April 2021, which is the best rating a business can get.

The small Chinese takeaway in Macclesfield has been owned by the same family since their opening in 1983.

"Wok's Cooking is proud to announce that it has been recognised as a Travellers' Choice 2021 award winner placing the takeaway in the top 10% worldwide," said the owners.

"We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded 'The Travellers' Choice Award 2021', as we have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic to deliver the best service possible to all of our customers," said Jennifer, the Social Media Manager for the business.

"Our family and entire team cannot thank our customers enough for all of their support over the last two years.

"Ranking in the top 10 percent worldwide tells us that we are delivering the kind of service that our customers expect and we will continue to deliver only excellence."

The 5-star reviews on their Tripadvisor was also for their dedicated gluten-free menu to cater for Coeliacs - a rarity for Macc.

It was also for delivering a 'completely safe' service and 'restaurant quality' food.

One glowing review which led to the new award stated: "My partner and I get a Chinese from there nearly weekly and we have never been disappointed.

"The great food arrives usually within half an hour and the Customer Service is excellent."

The much-loved Macclesfield takeaway have customers travelling as far as Poynton, Congleton, Biddulph, Whaley Bridge and Buxton just to collect their food.
