Macclesfield Coffee Festival to return 'bigger and better' in 2027
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 20th Oct 2026
The first-ever Macclesfield Coffee Festival has been hailed a huge success.
Organised by Macclesfield Town Council, the event saw more than two dozen local business take part, offering everything from photography exhibitions and craft workshops to tasting sessions and free cupcakes.
With around 2,000 taking part in the day's events, the council's new events manager, Jennifer Holland, is planning to bring the event back 'bigger and better' in 2027.
She said: "Public response to the event has been exceptional, with a significant boost in town centre footfall and strong engagement from visitors throughout the day.
"Footfall in the town centre increased by 23% compared with the previous week and 16% compared with the same period last year, with more than 10,218 people visiting the town on the day.
"Engagement with the festival programme was equally encouraging. More than 750 maps were distributed at Incubation Arts, while the digital programme attracted 1,700 views online. Together, these figures suggest that approximately 2,000 people engaged directly with the festival's programme and activities.
"We are delighted by the response and the enthusiasm shown by the community, businesses and everyone who helped make the event such a success.
"This is an exciting foundation for the future, and we look forward to exploring how the event can develop for 2027.
"Our ambition is to return bigger and better, building on this year's success to create a landmark festival that celebrates the creativity, character and independent spirit of our beautiful town."
