Macclesfield residents came together to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

Hundreds gathered at the Cenotaph on Sunday, November 9, for the annual Remembrance Sunday service.

It followed the parade through the town, with Silk Bras leading the way at 10.30am.

The procession included cadets, military veterans, local dignitaries and Scout groups.

Upon arrival at the war memorial on Park Green, those in attendance observed the national two-minute silence at 11am.

Following this, wreaths were laid by the likes of MP Tim Roca, Mayor of Cheshire East David Edwardes, Mayor of Macclesfield Emma Gilman and Deputy Lieutenant Clare Hayward MBE.

Wreaths were also laid on behalf of groups such as the Macclesfield branch of the Royal British Legion, the Salvation Army, the Cheshire Regimental Association, the Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club, the Rotary Club of Macclesfield Castle and Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
