Macclesfield's MP David Rutley has backed Rishi Sunak again in this year's second Conservative Leadership contest.

In a tweet which has received over 950 likes, Macclesfield's MP of 12 years said: "I am supporting @RishiSunak - he has the proven track record to fight inflation, tackle cost of living pressures and bring stability to our economy. Rishi will deliver for the country once again as Prime Minister."

Last week, Mr Rutley voted against the Labour motion to ban fracking, which saw the end of Liz Truss' premiership.

He also visited the Pearls of Cheshire Market at Macclesfield's Victoria Park at the weekend.
