Macclesfield's largest independent antique store has opened for the first time in four months.

Deja Vu on 77 Chestergate is ran by partners Mark Goulding and Paul Shatwell.

They've been shut since July 4, and moved their sales to 100% online.

Their physical store has now re-opened for three days a week.

"We are delighted and excited to be re-opening," said Mark.

"We've been working on an appointment basis on-and-off since we got back from COVID.

"The high street has changed a bit, and we've changed in a bit that we want a bit of flexibility in our own lives.

"People are using online a little bit more, so we jumped on board and went all-in on our online shop.

"We've been shut for four months, but we thought now is the right time to re-open as we're coming up to Christmas and want to get back to meeting people, which we enjoy doing as well.

"We want a bit more routine back in our lives. But it is important to have a work life balance, we've been here for 11 years, and it was always a five-year-plan but we are still here 11 years later.

"As wonderful as it is we want a bit of balance in our life. It is demanding and hard work which is why we have these new opening hours.

"We also just want to say thank you to our customers for their patience and supporting us, we've been very busy through COVID."

The current opening hours for the store are Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10am-4pm.

While they won't be open at this weekend's Treacle Market, you can visit their Macclesfield store on other days outside their opening hours by appointment.

Deja Vu can be contacted on 01625 429283, or via Facebook.

The Macclesfield business also have an email ([email protected]) and Instagram.
