An electric bike caught fire in the early hours on Wednesday.

At 2:52am Cheshire Fire and Rescue attended a home where an electric bike set alight in an extension.

Two fire engines from Macclesfield went to the incident on Gawsworth Road.

No serious injuries have been reported, with no one sent to hospital from the incident.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue said the incident was: "A fire involving an electric bike in a conservatory required firefighters to attend and use a large fan to remove smoke from a property."

"Everyone was accounted for and smoke alarms alerted the occupier. Paramedics also attended and checked one person for smoke inhalation."
