A Macclesfield estate agent has donated £3,000 to East Cheshire Hospice to mark one year in which fundraising has been severely impacted.

The team at Gascoigne Halman said they were keen to help the local charity as it supports people from a wide area "mirroring the communities served by the agent's 22 offices".

Executive Chairman, John Halman said: "The property sector has been one of the least impacted by the pandemic with our operations continuing to keep people moving, albeit under strict Covid conventions.

"We wanted to do something to give back to the people in the communities we serve and a donation to East Cheshire Hospice felt wholly appropriate."

The estate agent has supported charities around the area over the years, raising tens of thousands of pounds.

Managing Director, Peter Higham said, "We have enjoyed supporting East Cheshire Hospice in the past through a mix of company-wide fundraising initiatives and local offices undertaking one-off, smaller, fundraisers such as charity walks and bake sales.

"No matter the size of the donation, it is always warmly received by the hospice and you get a real sense of the difference it will make."

Karyn Johnston, Chief Executive of East Cheshire Hospice said, "It has been a really tough year in all sorts of ways and the need for our work has never been greater, but we are incredibly grateful for this kind of support from Gascoigne Halman, a company that really cares, is all we need to carry on."
