Macclesfield: Prestbury resident Benjamin Mendy denies sex crime charges
A Manchester City footballer who lives in a Macclesfield village was in court today.
Benjamin Mendy entered not guilty pleas to nine charges of sexual offences against six women.
Mendy, 27, of Withinlee Road, Prestbury, denied all the charges, seven of rape, at Chester Crown Court.
The French left-back also denied a charge sexual assault and a charge attempted rape.
The offences are alleged to have taken place at the World Cup winner's Prestbury between October 2018 and August 2021.
The Premier League defender will face trial at Chester Crown Court on July 25.
The Premier League winner's co-defendant Louis Saha Matturie, of Eccles, Salford, also entered not guilty pleas to 12 charges.
These alleged incidents span over nine years, from July 2012 to August 2021.
The 40-year-old denied eight counts of rape and four counts of sexual assault.
Both Benjamin Mendy and Saha Matturie remain on bail.
Mendy remains suspended by Manchester City, who secured the Premier League title yesterday.
