A Macclesfield beauty salon has moved to a new premises, shortly after the four-year anniversary of their business.

Queen's Parlour, established by friends Katrina Gibbs and Molly Schofield, met at a Macclesfield beauty salon and worked together for five years.

The co-owners started their own business in 2018, naming their royal-titled business after the opposite of their original location, which was on King Edward Street.

Now, the busy business have moved into a site to the right of Marlborough Court, on Pickford Street.

"The royal name was because we wanted our salon to be different," said Katrina.

"We don't wear tunics, we are quite personable, every single one of our clients are friends. They come in with Prosecco and chocolates. We know them all by names, and sometimes go out with them.

"Our new site is so much better. We're right next to the Pickford Street carpark so parking is easier for people to find us. The building is brighter, it is cosier. It is more homely."

"Since we've moved here we've been really busy", said Molly.

"We want to do everything the best that we can. We have crystals in the salon, we have vegan brands. And one of our main suppliers is currently switching to reusable packaging.

"Our bread and butter is nails, but we don't offer acrylic nails as they can damage nails."

"A unique best-seller is women's intimate waxing," added Katrina.

"It is something not many places around here offer. LVL and crystal clear lash lift and facials also do well."

The business is also breaking boundaries in terms of the demographics of their customers.

As well as offering treatment to men, the salon is also open to serving transgender people.

While woman are predominantly their customer base, Queen's Parlour prides itself on a friendly and professional service for everyone.

"My favourite thing about being a business in Macclesfield is that all of the businesses round here are really friendly", added Molly.

"We'll recommend places to people and we will get recommendations back. Other beauty salons, even if they don't offer a certain treatment, they'll direct them to us, and we'll do the same.

"We get told a lot of the time that it is so relaxed coming here, if you are a few minutes late for an appointment, it is not the end of the world."

Queen's Parlour are delighted to mention there may be potential for a discount on their services this summer, if you mention this Macclesfield Nub News article.
