A fashion show designed to show off Macclesfield's range of clothes shops, has fundraised hundreds of pounds for charity.

Macclesfield Clothes Show 2024 has fundraised £529.92 for East Cheshire Hospice.

Yvonne Lennard, Louise Bullock and Jenni Rolph.

The trendy fashion show took place at The Silk Museum late last month.

The organisers, which include Macclesfield small businesses like Artmageddon Tattoo Studio, Loola Loves and Rolph & Co photography, are grateful for the support of those who attended or donated.

Macclesfield clothes shops which helped out included Peacocks, Fatface, and Victorias Closet.

Co-organiser Yvonne Lennard said: "The 'why' behind this monumental task was two-fold," she said.

"Firstly, to combat the wave of negative comments on social media, who would have the entire town believe that the only way to purchase clothing is to travel out of town, and from the resounding applause on Saturday night, its safe to say that Totally Locally Macclesfield proved this isn't the case!

Organisers Totally Local Macclesfield is a collective to champion Macclesfield's independent businesses and high streets.

"Secondly, for East Cheshire Hospice, who offer expert care, not only to patients, but to their families and carers too, and all for free.

"They receive only 17% of their funding from the government, the rest comes from donations, we wanted to be counted in that number."

As well as co-organising the event, Back Wallgate photographers Rolph & Co shot the photos for the event.

The show highlighted:

7 different clothing shops in Macclesfield,

10 stalls inside and outside the museum

6 gorgeous designs from Macclesfield College

It hosted 63 guests and 2 VIPS

With help from 6 Town Council Volunteers

The event was also supported by the Mayor of Macclesfield and Macclesfield Town Council.
