Macclesfield: Five homes refused at former pub in Bosley

It looks like empty Macclesfield pub won't become housing, for now.

Plans were submitted almost three years ago to turn the vacant Queens Arms pub in Bosley into five homes.

However, Cheshire East Council have this week refused the planning application, on both rural character and heritage grounds.

The Leek Road pub, which closed in January 2020, dates back to the early 19th century.

It is not yet known if the applicant will try again with new dwelling plans for the Grade II-listed building.
