An independent eatery in Macclesfield is leaving The Picturedrome.

Micky's, who joined the Chestergate food hall earlier this year, served their last sandwich in Macclesfield today.

The food outlet located in the courtyard of The Picturedrome, served hot and cold sandwiches packed with fresh ingredients.

They were briefly known as MIRA, before rebranding in the middle of the year.

In a statement, The Picturedrome said: "Today, we say goodbye to @mustbemickys, but all is not lost - he may reappear in the near future."

"Your last day for the ultimate butty, and those amazing crispy potatoes, so make sure you get down here and grab some bits whilst you can - you'll be sad if you don't. 

"However, this does leave a spot open for someone new, so if you want to see anyone in PD who isn't already here, let us know, or if you're a local business looking for a spot, the same applies. 

"See you from 9-6 today."

The current independent businesses serving inside The Picturedrome are: Honest Crust Pizza, Baked by Bean, PD Coffee, Dick's, SEND NOODS, Fin, and Tender Cow.

It is not known if a replacement is being sought, and what it might be. However, commenters on The Picturedrome's social media have asked for a Mexican.
