Macclesfield's only Greggs store has been refurbished, and introduced new ways to order.

The Grosvenor Centre pasty shop has been closed for all of February as it underwent major renovation.

Macclesfield Nub News met with Macclesfield Greggs Store Manager Nic Jukes-Weinberg at the store relaunch to find out what is new.

"We're delighted to reopen our Macclesfield shop", said Nic.

"We've been able to introduce new menu items like our hot to go offering in Macclesfield for the first time.

"We'll be able to sell things like Southern Fried Chicken, wedges, BBQ bites, hot vegan breakfasts, and hash browns.

"The seating has been taken out, that is because we have introduced a new click and collect section.

"This will mean that from February 23 you can use JustEat and Deliveroo to order your food online and come and pick it up."

This means that there will be less queues for everyone, and less waiting which means hotter and fresher food for everyone.

It is part of a national roll-out for the chain bakery which is headquartered in Newcastle.

"We've doubled our freezer space in the back to make our kitchen better than ever", she added.

"This means we should be more efficient, which is great news for the customer.

"We've had all new air conditioning put in, and digital screens in the shop window for the first time. There's also new signage outside.

"The counter has changed as well, and we're getting new coffee machines in too."

They have also extended their opening hours to close at 6pm instead of 5pm.

The shiny new store has the best food hygiene rating possible.

As well as click and collect, the revamped store is encouraging Macclesfield customers to download the Greggs app. (Image - Alexander Greensmith / Macclesfield Nub News)

They're located inside The Grosvenor Centre, 7 Mill Street, Macclesfield SK11 6AJ.
