A Macclesfield hairdresser has been nominated for a national award.
Victoria Rogers AKA Vici Creative Hairdresser will find out next month if she will win in the Hairstylist of the Year Category at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards.
The life-long Macclesfield resident came into hairdressing from a science background, and has been in love with the profession since she was 21.
"The science behind hairdressing and colouring fascinated me", said Victoria.
"I love being creative so the artistry of hairdressing really appealed to me as well.
"I spent a decade at a hair studio in Manchester but I have been based in Isoana in Macclesfield since 2018, but went mobile during COVID.
"So this has been my first full year back in the salon."
The ex-All Hallows pupil is one of six hair professionals who work in Isoana on Chestergate, next to Chestergate Bistro.
She prides herself on originality and adaptability.
"My specialism is colour correction, adding colour, and working with quirky colours," she added.
"I love working with clients that want something a little bit different [for their hair].
"But my training is quote classically trained so I can still be that kind of hairdresser as well.
"I can do bridal hair, hair-ups, cut and blow drys and just blow dries as well. The price [for these latter services] starts from £41."
Victoria won't have to wait long to find out if she will win, as the awards ceremony takes place on Friday April 21 in Birmingham.
"I am naturally quite shy so an award isn't something I have had the opportunity with before," revealed Victoria.
"My reaction to finding out I am one of the final nominees was overwhelming. I was really proud of myself for putting myself out there to be recognised for a skill by those at the top of the industry.
"It makes me feel really great. And to win it will spur me forward and make me believe I have so much more to give in this industry."
And the award is not the only way Victoria is putting herself out there this year.
Victoria will be taking on her a marathon in Wales to raise money for Alzheimer's Society, in memory of her grandmother who passed away with Alzheimer's.
She will take on the 26-mile run in July, when she could also be known as an award-winning Macclesfield hairdresser.
She has raised £200 so far, and you can sponsor her by getting in touch.
If you want to book Victoria to do your hair, you can contact her via Instagram or the contact details listed on her Facebook.
"I love working at Isoana it is a great location, especially on this side of Chestergate we have seen so much investment here in the past couple of years," Victoria also said.
"It is a really great place to be, and I feel I can be myself with my clients here as well."
Isoana owner Sonia had this to say on Victoria's success.
"She's excellent part of the team and we are lucky for her to be here," Sonia said.
"Isoana is a great energy and space to work in for freelance hairdressers."
