Macclesfield: Homes refused once again at former Bosley pub
Plans have been refused to turn a Grade-II listed former pub into homes, for the second time this year.
Earlier this year, plans were rejected to turn the former Queens Arms pub in Bosley into five homes.
One month after plans were rejected, new plans were submitted for three less homes on the site.
These would have comprised two four bedroom homes on the site of the ex-pub on the A523.
However, plans have once again been rejected by Cheshire East Council this week.
The plans contravened with policies, according to a planning document.
The reasons for rejection cited were: "Due to the close, uncomfortable, and jarring relationship of the development with the listed building to the south, the layout of the scheme is deemed to result in a visually cramped form of development."
"The application proposals will result in less than substantial harm to designated heritage assets, namely the Grade II Queens Arms Public House adjacent and the Grade II* St Mary's Church opposite.
"It is not deemed that public benefits outweigh the harm."
The applications parking plans were also criticised. An outbuilding would have been demolished to provide two parking spaces.
Before these latest two attempts to get homes here, permission was previously granted for it to become one home.
