A Macclesfield charity has thanked a man who spent last month walking with a bucket to raise funds for them.

Last month, Neville Mackay walked around the Upton Priory estate in a Santa outfit spreading joy, to raise money for East Cheshire Hospice

Today, the Millbank Drive good cause have praised the Upton Priory resident, who decided to raise money for the Hospice to thank them for the care they gave his dad.

This was after Neville presented the Hospice with a cheque for £147.38.

Luke Hughes, Community and Events Assistant at East Cheshire Hospice said: "The entire team at East Cheshire Hospice is super grateful for Neville's commitment to our cause."

"Despite grappling with a chest infection, he continued to lift the spirits of locals by collecting donations for us while dressed as Santa Claus!

"Neville truly spread the festive cheer, all to support patients in end-of-life care and their families.

"Thank you, Neville, for being a genuine superstar!"
