A full-time role to work in Macclesfield District General Hospital as a Cash Office Assistant has opened.

Your employer will be East Cheshire NHS Trust, working from Macclesfield's Victoria Road hospital.

The Macclesfield Cash Office Assistant role requires 37.5 hours a week.

The Salary is £19,737 - £21,142 per annum pro rata.

"The successful candidate will have a good understanding of the accounting function, and recent relevant experience in Treasury accounting and cashiering," said East Cheshire NHS Trust.

"They will provide high calibre financial support to the Trust's financial services team."

"You should be able to plan workloads in order to meet strict and conflicting deadlines and also be proactive with strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office and computerised ledger systems, and be willing to work individually and as part of a team."

In addition to the remuneration, there is the possibility of study support for the right candidate. So a willingness to learn and for personal development is desired

The Cash Office Assistant will support and answer to the Financial Accountant. They will provide a professional and timely service to staff, patients, clients and visitors.

In addition to receipt and bank income to be totaled, charitable donations will also be tallied in this Cash Office Assistant role.

Efficiency and record keeping are required, in addition to providing patients bank services for receipt and withdrawal of patient's cash and valuables at the Cash Office window or other designated areas.

This may involve attending patients in ward areas to carry out the service if required.

This will also involve liaising with the General Office, relatives and next of kin regarding the recently deceased.

The latter is to ensure that all documentation is in order when the relatives come to the Cash Office to collect any property or monies due.

The personal profile needs a strong and empathetic communicator, a self-motivated individual who is highly numerate, and an ability to work accurately to tight deadlines.

In addition to showcasing your impeccable numeracy skills, the ability to present data in an understandable way to finance and non-finance managers is essential.

This role is part of the Trust's well-established Finance & Procurement Department, which is accredited at level 2 Skills Development Network and Future Focused Finance for achieving high levels of performance and consistent good practice in finance skills development in the Northwest.
