Macclesfield man appears in court over alleged series of assaults

A Macclesfield man has appeared in court following an alleged series of assaults.
Craig Vernon, of Pickford Street, has been charged with three counts of assault, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, two counts of intentional strangulation, sexual assault on a female, and criminal damage.
These charges relate to incidents that occurred between June 1, 2024, and January 11 this year.
The 51-year-old was arrested by officers and remanded into custody to appear at Warrington Magistrates Court on Monday, January 13.
At the hearing on Monday, he was further remanded in custody to appear at Chester Crown Court on Monday, February 10.
