Macclesfield man charged with public order offences

A 33-year-old man from Macclesfield has been charged with a public order offence following an incident on Pierce Street on Monday.

Steven Thornbar, of Great King Street, was arrested shortly before 10.30am on 14 September after being spoken to by plain-clothed officers.

Thornbar has subsequently been charged with a public order offence in relation to an incident in Pierce Street that morning.

A witness told Nub News there were at least two police cars at the scene and the street was closed off during the incident

He been released on unconditional bail and is set to appear at Stockport Magistrates' Court on Monday 16 November.
