Macclesfield man in 'life threatening condition' after Cumberland Street crash

Police are appealing for witnesses and video footage following a pedestrian collision involving an elderly man in Macclesfield.
Shortly after 7pm on Thursday 18 November, police were called to reports of a collision on Cumberland Street, near to the Co-op store.
Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a white Mercedes box van and a pedestrian.
The pedestrian, an 82-year-old man, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to the Royal Stoke Hospital; his condition is currently described as life threatening.
The driver of the van was uninjured.
It is unknown if the injured man has any next of kin, or if they have been informed.
No arrests have been made and enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing.
