Macclesfield metal band preparing to take to the stage one final time
By Matthew Hancock-Bruce 3rd Feb 2026
A metal band from Macclesfield are preparing for their final gig.
Karma's Puppet will take to the stage one final time this Saturday, February 7.
The five-piece are going out with a bang, with the show coming just a week after the release of their EP, The Lucid Ones.
Guitarist Simon Mayo said: "Of course, it is sad and we're all feeling that for sure, but the reality is, we're all dads with families and commitments.
"In addition to various other factors, we needed to make a decision, not just in the short term, but long term too.
"We chatted things through as a band and decided to end things on a high.
"We will be forever grateful for the experiences we've had and the people we've met along the way and really chuffed that we're able to drop a few final offerings before bringing things to a very amicable end."

Karma's Puppet began its conception following the disbandment of a previous band Simon was a part of, along with vocalist Alex Blaikie and bass player Tom Perry.
By 2020, they had finally settled on a lineup which now included drummer Max Hodson and guitarist Matt Poole.
Despite the COVID restrictions, Karma's Puppet were able to keep busy, primarily using the time to establish their social media presence.
2022 proved to be a huge year for the band, who won the Metal 2 The Masses competition and with it, a chance to perform at Bloodstock.
Boosted by this, in 2023 the band branched out further across the UK and released their debut album, Where The Old Roots Grow.
Their latest release, The Lucid Ones, has been in production for a little while now with the first single, Fall With Me, released last September.
On January 30, the full EP was released and the band consider it to be some of their best work to date.
Simon said: "It has everything from aethereal ambience through to enormous melodic choruses, as well as the heavy stuff too.
"We think The Lucid Ones will be something we'll always look back on with pride, but we highly recommend you jump on your favourite streaming service and make up your own mind."

Karma's Puppet's final show takes place at The Swan With Two Necks on Chestergate this Saturday, February 7.
Simon added: "The Swan With Two Necks has always been our quintessential 'hometown venue'.
"The Swan With Two Necks is part of the overall Karma's Puppet legacy and it seems only fitting to bring the show to a close there.
"We hope to see old friends and new joining with us to embrace the songs that have brought us all together one last time.
"We'll be sharing the stage with 'Tokeo' who are stepping in as support.
"Doors open at 8pm and it's onwards and upwards from there! Let's make it one to remember!"
Asked what's next for the members of Karma's Puppet, Simon said: "Each of us have different avenues we'd like to explore, whether that be with other bands, projects, genres, even instruments.
"We all share a huge love of creating and sharing music with the world. Something which is unlikely to change. This is just a new chapter in that journey."
