A new Indian takeaway has opened in Macclesfield.

Saffron Express, of 128 Broken Cross, opened their doors late last month.

Their menu proudly states they are 'not just another Indian experience, it is authentic home-style cooking'.

Macclesfield Nub News went down to Saffron Express to meet with owner Sanaam Ahmed.

"We are providing a premium dining experience at home," said Sanaam.

"I love our location, we are right in the middle of the community, Broken Cross has a nice village feel, the only thing I felt it was missing was great Indian cuisine.

"I like that we are in the centre of a large catchment area, we are near to Macclesfield, Prestbury, Alderley Edge."

When asked what makes their food stand out, Sanaam replied: "They key is the ingredients."

"We hand blend our own spices for our curry paste, with produce bought from specialist suppliers.

"Another example, we also use proper large King Prawns in our fish dishes."

Their menu covers a broad geographic spread of Indian cuisines.

Popular dishes include lamb Kashmiri, beef medallions curry and yellow fish curry.

"We have a chef who has worked in big name hotels and restaurant," revealed Sanaam.

"I am proud of what we are doing.

"This means I cannot compromise on quality, therefore we are more expensive than others, but people are willing to pay extra for that top quality foot to be enjoyed at home."

Sanaam's high quality standards led him to run a successful restaurant in Prestbury for 13 years, and he has been in the food service industry for the last 25 years.

The menu is also modern. They also have plastic free packaging, and offer more vegan options than you would expect for a takeaway.

"We have handpicked each dish", added Sanaam.

"Chicken Handi for example is a traditional dish enjoyed in India which reminds you of mum's home cooking.

"Our dishes take time, takeaway normally you expect quick, but we take 40-45 minutes because everything is fresh and nothing pre-cooked."

Saffron Express has created jobs for seven people.

They have a 10% discount on collection takeaway orders, and offer free delivery within a 2.5 mile radius providing your order is over £20.

"What we are providing to the customer, is something we think they cannot get elsewhere," explained Sanaam.

"My message to the people of Macclesfield would be, due to the cost of living at the moment, to have a quality food at a restaurant it is expensive, but you can have it at home with us.

"There's no service charge and we have a collection discount as well.

They are open seven days a week.

"Thank you to the Macclesfield community for their support."
