The Mayor of Macclesfield is planting 12 trees at Macclesfield schools for Her Majesty The Queen.
It is one of numerous tree planting initiatives for Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee.
The planting ceremony and programme is part of The Queen's Green Canopy, which is a nationwide movement, and will map all of the recently-planted trees across the country.
On Friday, Park Lane School was the latest recipient of a partially-grown tree.
Mayor Cllr David Edwardes joined 20 staff and pupils of the Macclesfield SEND school for pupils aged 2-19.
They were helped by Macclesfield Town Ranger Andy McKeith and Ranger Joel.
"Thank you everybody for your help today," he said.
"I hope the Queen will see our pins on the map and I'm sure she will be mightily impressed!"
McKeith is selecting different species for each school.
"This tree planted at Park Lane was a Joseph Rock", the Macc Town Ranger added.
"I like to teach the Latin name as well - which is Sorbus Aucuparia - because the Latin name for trees is a universal language."
McKeith and the Mayor will next plant at Tytherington School on the morning of March 11.
It is at the Manchester Road school where he has earmarked a Royal Oak to be planted, a favourite of Prince Philip and the Queen.
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee to mark her 70 years on the throne will be celebrated during the weekend commencing on June 3 2022.
Speaking after the ceremony, The Mayor of Macclesfield has teased of what is to come for the Platinum Jubilee in our town.
David said, "There will be events going on all over the town, as always supported by Macclesfield Town Council. Tytherington will be having a right Royal knees-up at the Sandwich Drive playing fields on Saturday 04 June. You all know me. Never exactly a shrinking violet. I've got my kit sorted already: Henry VIII! Any volunteers for a couple of Beefeaters? "
