A Macclesfield Labrador and her litter has starred in a landmark photo shoot for a town centre photography business.

Back Wallgate photographers Rolph and Co are known for doing baby bump photo shoots, and also for photos of dogs of all ages.

But when one Macclesfield dog owner came to the photographers with the idea of doing a pregnancy photoshoot for a dog, they snapped up the chance to do their first-ever non-human 'baby bump' photoshoot.

Macclesfield dog owner Caroline and her female lab Bonnie went in for a photoshoot just hours before she gave birth to six puppies.

Then, six weeks later, the super cute sextet of puppies posed for the camera in these paw-some pics.

"I came up with the idea to do a dog baby bump shoot after our lovely dogwalker got us a Rolph and Co gift voucher," said Caroline.

"Bonnie was wonderful during her pre-puppy photoshoot. I don't think she could have been happier. She got treats, Gavin the photographer was giving her lots of attention and keeping her engaged with fun noises.

"Bonnie is quite well-trained so she sat happily for the camera, looking calm, happy and unflappable.

"The shoot was just the day before the six puppies were born. She's three so she is quite a young mum.

"The puppy photoshoot was so much fun as well. You have to have quite a lot of patience because puppies don't respond to commands easily, but they were so sweet.

"With them being labradors, they will do anything for food. So they were being very good for a few treats.

"And we have kept three of them together in my family. The rest have gone to local places as well, and the one puppy that hasn't is with one of my nan's carers.

"One of the Labrador-Golden Retriever puppies is called Margot, who lives me and Bonnie but also appear on our Instagram account about their adventures.

"Thank you to Rolph and Co for the most brilliant experience. They could not have been more accommodating. They sterilised the whole studio for us so the puppies were safe, and considering it was the puppies first outing from the house they loved it."

"I love them to bits. They are lovely dogs."

Proud paw-tographers Jenni and Gavin Rolph, who live in Lyme Green, had this to say about the ulti-mutt photoshoot.

"As soon as we heard the idea we thought it was a brilliant thing to do", said .

"When someone comes up with an idea for something different, it is an instant yes straight away. We love coming up with ideas to make it work."

"The puppies all had different personalities and responded to the shoot in different ways. Some got sleepy which was helpful, and others wouldn't sit still. It was hard to get them in the same spot for the picture," added Jenni.

"We have an upstairs studio, and one of my favourite moments was getting to carry some of the puppies upstairs," added Gavin.

"The puppy shoot took an hour-and-a-half. It was a very unique shoot.

"What is great is that we offer our clients to come and view the final photos at the studio a few days after the shoot, which is set to music. For them to see the photos on the big screen is just an incredible experience."
