Our town's police force have appealed for a missing cat's owner to come forward.

Macclesfield Police want to help the unnamed and unchipped kitty return home.

The male cat was found wounded on Manchester Road, and has been taken 1.3 miles away to a veterinary surgeon on Cumberland Street.

Macclesfield Police have launched an appeal on social media.

"Is this your cat? Young entire ginger Tom cat found injured on Manchester Road this evening," they said.

"He is now with Wright and Moreton Vets being cared for but has no chip #watsonswatch #communitypolicing."

The exact age of the collarless cat is unknown.
