A Macclesfield pub has launched a crowdfunder for equipment that could help save a life.

Old Millstone could be the first pub in Macclesfield to buy a bleed support kit.

£600 is needed in the fundraiser, which will be a vital lifeline in the community if required.

"We are going to raise money for a bleed kit, which will be wall mounted outside our pub," said publican Eli Fernihough.

"A Bleed Control Kit can save lives so treatment can begin before paramedics arrive.

"To help raise funds, we will be sleeping outside and braving the cold on the 4th December. Please feel free to join us and get involved."

The pub are familiar with sleep-outs for good causes, having done so for a homeless charity earlier in the year.

There is a bleed kit at nearby Macclesfield railway station, so this should provide a handy back-up or second option if - heaven forbid - they should ever be needed.

"If we raise enough, we're going to put it towards a defibrillator as well," added Eli.

"Thank you to the Macclesfield community for they support."
