A teenager from Tytherington is celebrating after being recognised as one of the best high jumpers of his age.

Hayden Blunn, who turns 16 this year, has won two medals this month at a national level.

On July 8, he won Gold at the English Schools Athletics Championships.

He jumped 1.98 metres and beat his personal best by a whopping ten centimetres.

His most recent medal was won in Belfast over the weekend.

And this past weekend, he took on high jumpers from all over the British isles, and still came out with a medal.

Representing England at a national level, Hayden took third at a tournament against the best young high jumpers across Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.

The Tytherington School pupil has a bright future ahead of him, and has been contacted for comment.
