A Tytherington company which can help you with your will have donated 'vital' funds to East Cheshire Hospice.

The Millbank Drive good cause have received £3410 from Moneybox Wills and Trusts.

Will Writer Joseph Etherington, who works at the Tytherington Business Park will firm, came up with the idea to raise money for charity.

Given the nature of will writing and East Cheshire Hospice's support and care for those afflicted with life-limiting illnesses, the two organisations are inextricably linked.

So for Joe, raising funds was a no brainer.

"I've always believed if you are able to do a bit of good, then you should", he said.

"The money was raised by clearing a diary for a week, seeing five people a day. We charge for a basic will writing service, pay the usual fee, and we donate what they would have paid Moneybox to East Cheshire Hospice.

"A lot of what we do is linked to what the Hospice does, which is sad, but it is the way it is. So our relationship works quite nicely in that regard. We also host free will clinics for them.

"The last time we did this for them we raised just shy of a grand, and this time we've raised over triple that."

East Cheshire Hospice is not the only charity Moneybox Wills and Trusts will support this year.

They are closely linked with Space4Autism of Mill Lane, and recently held an event with The Rossendale Trust.

"For me making a will is less about giving your stuff away when you pass. It is simply about doing what is right for your family", he added.

"No matter what age you are, if something happens, it is going to make things simpler and clearer for your loved ones.

"Forget how much money you have, writing a will is simple and affordable way to make things easier for the people you leave behind."

Four people work for Moneybox Wills and Trusts, with Joe leading the team.

Luke Brightmore, Marketing Manager at East Cheshire Hospice said: "Joe is a great supporter of the Hospice and really went the extra mile to raise such a phenomenal amount during our Will Week campaign last year.

"Making a will is not always an easy subject, but it's something we all need to think about at some point, and Joe's passion and care really shines through when it comes to having the conversations and helping people to get things in place.

"We're so grateful to receive these funds which are vital in keeping the Hospice's services available and free to those who need them."
