Macclesfield: Unverified reports new electric car charging port is broken already

By Alex Greensmith

9th Mar 2023 | Local News

They've only just opened but one of the new electric car charging stations in Macclesfield is out of order.

For the past three days as far as we can verify, a plastic cover has been over one of the four new electric car charging ports located in the new Barracks Mill Retail Park.

Macclesfield Nub News has not tested this port situated closest to The Silk Road due to safety reasons.

However, social media users have also reported that there are only three working charging stations at the parking spaces near the new Aldi.

It is unclear whether the port itself is broken, or is merely switched off for cost-saving reasons.

The ports are owned by UK fuel giant BP under the brand 'bp pulse'.

bp pulse have not responded to Macclesfield Nub News' requests for comment.
