Weird question Macclesfield: how often do you think about the SS Titanic?
The film is often on the telly at Christmas, and was originally released just before Yuletide in 1997.
But there is a chance you could own a piece of Titanic memorabilia for less than a hundred quid, as a bear used to mourn the great loss of life will be sold in Macclesfield this week.
Steiff is a black cuddly teddy bear originally designed in 1912, after the British ship sank and over 1,500 people died.
It was popular among kids, those who knew somebody who perished int he tragedy, or just those interested as it was a seismic event for the general public conscious at the time.
The bear was reproduced at a heightened interest in the Titanic disaster during the mid-1990s.
And it is this faithful remake you can purchase in Macclesfield this week.
Withyfold Drive auction house Adam Partridge are selling this German-reissued bear, which could fetch up to £100.
The auctioneers said on social media: "This is 'Leo' the 1912 Titanic Mourning bear, boxed and with certificate, number 00247.
"Originally produced in the weeks following the Titanic tragedy exclusively for the English market.
"Leo will feature in our Toy auction at Macclesfield [on Tuesday]."
The estimate sale price is £50-£100. There is a starting bid of £30.
It will go under the hammer at 5:30pm on Tuesday 14th December.
