Macclesfield woman on '40 Under 40' list in fast-growing US city
A woman from Macclesfield has been named on a prestigious '40 under 40' list where she now lives.
Hannah Mannion, who is now based in the United States, has been named on the Houston Business Journal (HBJ) 2023 40 Under 40 list for being one of 40 most influential business people under said age in the Texan city.
Hannah, who now lives in America's 'second fastest-growing city', was born and raised in the West Park area of Macclesfield.
She went to school in Sutton, and graduated from Keele University, before heading stateside.
The Educational Studies and Modern History graduate has lived across the pond since 2017. But is still making her hometown proud.
The Maxonian has been named on the list to recognise her work as Chief Development Officer at NestQuest Houston, which is a non-profit which supports low-income families getting on the property ladder.
The award-nominated 32-year-old has just taken on a new role at another homeless charity in the Lone Star state.
The honouree describes herself as "passionate about community, serving others and the importance of collaboration."
Fuelled by her own childhood experience of housing and education instability after a traumatic accident left her mother disabled, Hannah used her business acumen to help NestQuest grow and expand its reach in serving families in need. A feat that has been recognised with her being recognised one of the '40 under 40'.
Hannah has extended her passion for serving struggling families in her new role as Development Manager for SEARCH Homeless Services, an organisation that provides hope, opportunity and transformation for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Hannah has also served on the Mayor's Commission for Building and Standards.
Proud mum Sarah Mannion said from her Macclesfield home: "We are so proud of Hannah."
"She has recently been co-opted onto Houston's Building compliance and regulatory board and is basically a busy little bee."
