A Macclesfield woman has won a national pageant.
Nicole Harris, a 34-year-old from Macclesfield, is celebrating after winning the title of UK's National Ms 2023.
Nicole fought off the tough competition of women from all over the country to take home the prestigious UK's National Ms crown – all whilst pregnant!
Nicole is the first ever winner of the UK's National Miss pageants, whilst knowingly pregnant.
Nicole lives in Macclesfield with her husband and little boy, and in her day-to-day life is a primary school teacher.
The soon-to-be mum-of-two has two main aims in her career; making maths accessible for all children and improving the training that teachers receive.
Nicole is proud to be the first known pregnant competitor, and queen for the UKNM system.
She hopes she can inspire other women to continue their pageant journeys regardless of what stage of like they are going through.
Nicole is looking forward to the year ahead and launching her 'Mum.Me' campaign - a campaign that will offer advice, share stories and empower women to take time for themselves whilst balancing mum life.
The contest was founded in 2020 by Holly Pirrie (director of Pageant Girl Ltd), having come up with the idea during lockdown, with the first edition happening a year after.
After much consideration, Holly looked at what else could be brought to the pageant industry in the UK, a competition that includes all of the glamour of a pageant plus the opportunity to grow confidence and gain real world skills, combined with all of the fun of the girliest weekend with your friends.
UK's National Miss is a pageant system with five divisions for girls and women aged over 12, with no upper age limit.
Nicole had this to say on her victory: "I'm so proud, honoured and overwhelmed to have been crowned your UK's National Ms 23/24," she said.
"I first entered a pageant in 2012 but always felt it was never quite my time.
"I can't wait for the year ahead and forever more being part of the Pageant Girl UK family."
The UK's National Miss two-day competition was held at The Mercure Manchester Piccadilly Hotel, in Manchester earlier this month.
The activity and team building day which included glamorous photoshoots, empowerment workshops and a relaxing morning stretch and meditation session, finishing with the perfect girlie night in at the Pink PJ Party.
Holly Pirrie, director of UK's National Miss, said: "I am so pleased for Nicole. She truly deserved to win."
"Nicole is a beautiful girl, inside and out. We know she will be an excellent representative of the UK's National Miss organisation; she has a very exciting year ahead."
Along with the crown and national title, she has taken home an amazing prize package including an ultimate queen's retreat in a glamourous hotel away with her sister queens, a £350 voucher to spend at The Dress Studio, a royalty photoshoot, beauty products from UK Glam Squad, Ibrow Junkie and The Beauty Kin.
