Man, 62, dies following crash on A34 near Macclesfield

A man has died following a crash near Macclesfield.

Police have confirmed that the 62-year-old man involved in a crash on the A34 in Siddington on Wednesday (May 14) has since passed away.

It is understood the man had been driving a Kia Sportage before colliding with a tree.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police said: "At around 7am on Wednesday, May 14, officers in Macclesfield responded to reports of a road traffic collision on the A34 in the Siddington area of Macclesfield.

Attending the scene, officers found that the collision involved a blue Kia Sportage that had collided with a tree.

"The driver of the Kia, a 62-year-old man from Holmes Chapel, was taken to hospital and sadly passed away on Sunday, May 18.

"Anyone with any information or dashcam footage is asked to contact Cheshire Police via the website or on 101, quoting IML-2089540."
