A man has been arrested after trying to break into a Prestbury garage.

Cheshire Police's Roads and Crime Unit was called to an address on Castleford Drive in the early hours of Monday, November 3.

It follows reports of a person trying to gain entry to a garage.

The suspect fled and following a search of the area, officers located a car parked up on Prestbury Road.

They searched the driver and the car and arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of conspiracy to commit burglary, going equipped for burglary, possession of a Class A drug (cocaine) and drug driving.

He has since been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
