Man banned from entering Macclesfield following issuing of a criminal behaviour order
A man has been banned from entering Macclesfield town centre after officers secured a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).
Kris Peel, of Brookfield Drive, Liverpool, was served the three-year order at Crewe Magistrates' Court on Monday 5 February, following numerous incidents of shoplifting, burglaries, motor offences anti-social behaviour across the town.
As a result, the 37-year-old has been banned from entering Macclesfield town centre, with the exception of attending pre-arranged appointments at the Medical Centre on Sunderland Street.
If he fails to comply with the CBO, Peel will be committing a criminal offence which may result in recall to prison or fine.
Sergeant Matthew Bassirat, of Macclesfield Local Policing Unit, said: "Peel is a prolific offender who has frequently targeted local people and businesses for a considerable amount of time, I hope that the issuing of this CBO shows that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated in Macclesfield.
"I also hope the granting of this CBO can provide some reassurance to both residents and local retailers that we are doing all we can to deter anti-social behaviour and criminality such as this."
Anyone who encounters Peel breaching the restrictions of his order is urged to contact Cheshire Police via cheshire.police.uk/tua/tell-us-about/soh/seen-or-heard/ or call 101, to report it.
