Man banned from entering Macclesfield Natwest after abusing member of staff
A man has been banned from a bank.
Mark Evans, of no fixed abode, has been handed a restraining order following an incident at Natwest in Macclesfield.
On February 23, 2024, the 58-year-old used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour, understood to be aimed at a member of staff.
A NatWest spokesperson said: "Keeping our customers and colleagues safe and secure is of paramount importance to us, and we are committed to creating and promoting a positive environment free from bullying, harassment (including sexual harassment), discrimination and victimisation.
"We have zero tolerance for any form of these behaviours.
"The bank does not comment on the specifics of individual incidents."
Evans appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on Thursday, January 23, where he entered a guilty plea on the day he was due to stand trial.
He was handed a six-month restraining order, banning him from entering Natwest on Chestergate until July 22, 2025.
He must also not contact the victim either directly or indirectly.
Evans will also have to pay court costs of £250 and complete 135 hours of unpaid work within the next 12 months.
The court records also state that Evans will be deprived of his glasses as result of an order made under the Sentencing Act.
