One of Ireland's best-known celebrities is doing stand-up in Macclesfield this spring.

If you thought that the regular influx of TV comedians to nights at RedWillow Brewery and Cinemac Cinema couldn't get any better, brace yourself for the just announced show at Cinemac Cinema on Friday 31st May.

Widely regarded as the finest stand up of his generation and selling out shows worldwide for over two decades, Dylan Moran will be bringing his dark, dry and relentlessly sharp humour to town as he performs a very special extended headlining set.

Described as "The Oscar Wilde of comedy" and "The world's greatest comedian: living or dead" you can expect something special from the Bafta and Perrier Award winning Irish comic, famed both for his incredible standup performances and his roles in Stuck, Shaun of the Dead, and Notting Hill.

He also created, penned and starred in Black Books, alongside comedy legends Bill Bailey and Tamsin Grieg.

Support on the night comes from Mary O'Connell who is as seen on Comedy Central Live and BBC3's Stand Up For Live Comedy. A runner up in Funny Women 2020, she has gone on to experience a sellout Edinburgh run with her debut show and four star reviews from The Telegraph, Scottish Express and Daily Express.

Host and MC for the evening is the always flamboyant Jonathan Mayor. A regular at all the biggest comedy clubs in the UK and a stalwart of comedy in Macclesfield. He has acted as Sarah Millican tour support and TV warm up for Joe Lycett.

Nodding Dog Comedy owner Kev Rook said of the event "We are approaching our 3rd birthday in Macclefield and we believe more than ever that the town is deserving of hosting the biggest names in comedy - the audiences are always electric and put many bigger locations to shame! We can't wait to see Dylan Moran on the Cinemac stage!"

Tickets for this special Roe Street show are on sale at £16.50.

Other big names to have performed at previous events include Tiff Stevenson and Russell Kane.
