A Higher Hurdsfield man has been promoted by his place of work to manage Cinemac in Macclesfield.

Will Bryant (25) has volunteered and worked at the Roe Street cinema since 2013.

Now, he has been rewarded with a promotion as their new Manager.

The ex-Tytherington School pupil explained how excited he is to get started in his new role.

"I first helped out here when I was a teenager because school wanted us to volunteer", he said.

"I loved it, started doing more and more shifts, and other than university I have been here ever since.

"I have had paid roles here for a few years now, but this is the first full-time role.

"It feels really great to now step up and be a manager. My family are really proud of me getting the role. My dad watches films here really often.

"It is amazing to work in a building with such history [being located inside The Heritage Centre], run my local people and providing a service to local people.

"I also like how Cinemac supports local artists, like Macclesfield comic artist Marc Jackson, who does posters and sketches on our staircase for us.

With the promotion, Will becomes a salaried employee at Cinemac, and has quit his part-time job at Prestbury Co-op.

"My favourite part about the job is meeting the customers," added Will.

'Everyone is so friendly in Macclesfield and up for a chat.

"I'm a comedy film fan myself, but my favourite franchise is the Godzilla series.

"Thank you to Jordan Wilson [Director of Cinemac] and to our customers for their support.

"You should come and support us if you can, as we are a community-driven cinema that cares. Unlike a corporation, you can support people from the area, and not charge a fortune."

"This Christmas, we will be screening classics like Elf and The Polar Express,

"We're also starting discount tickets every Monday, showing new releases for £3.80.

"With the economic situation at the moment, we feel people aren't able to come as often, so we've offered a more affordable alternative once a week to our regular prices there.

"It is great to get more people watching films.
