Josh takes over the role from Paul and Karen Brown.

After a little more than a year at the helm, the husband-and-wife team decided to step down amid 'increasingly difficult' challenges facing the hospitality industry.

They said: "We are really sad to be leaving such a lovely little pub.

"We've been in the industry almost 14 years spending just over 12 years at our last pub.

"We have found it increasingly difficult with the economic challenges in the hospitality industry and had no choice but to leave The Castle Inn."

Josh isn't the only new face at The Castle Inn, which dates back to 1820.

Alex Hulin has been appointed the new chef director.

"Alex brings a wealth of experience from his previous role as executive chef at the Municipal Hotel in Liverpool," reads a post on the venue's Facebook page.

"He began his training under Joshua at the young age of 16 and has since earned many accolades in his own right.

"Together, Alex and Joshua, who are not only brothers-in-law but also great friends, are excited to whip up some delicious dishes for you.

"We can't wait for you to come by and meet the team—we're sure you'll love the tasty creations coming from our kitchen!"
